Overview

For children 16 months through 5 years old, the Paul S. and Sylvia Steinberg Preschool at Beth El provides a motivational education program that seamlessly integrates Jewish values and traditions with a state-of-the-art early childhood curriculum. Professional teaching staff guide children as they develop the social, emotional, physical and academic skills they need.  Clergy frequently visit to celebrate Shabbat and other holidays with our children.

Small and Tall – 3 months to 15 months

These classes are for our youngest children. This music and movement program encourages child development through hands-on interactive learning.  Parents/caregivers, together with their little ones, will join our expert teachers for this enriching experience for children and adults.

This class registers from September through December, January through May and June through August

Adult/Toddler – 16 months – 21 months (by September 1st)

Tuesday and Thursday 9:00  – 10:15 am
A first introduction to a pre-school setting, you and your child will enjoy art, music, stories and free choice time that are specially designed to stimulate and enhance your child’s development.

This class registers from August/September through May.

Toddlers – 21 months through 27 months (by September 1st)

Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 – 11:00 am
In this class your child begins class with support from “their adult” and by November will be comfortable in a group experience to be on their own with “their teachers”. this class encourages creativity, cognitive and social development, and independence

2 Year Olds – 27 months through 35 months (by September 1st)

Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9 am – 12 pm
Children with the help of their teachers become a learning community – learning to play, share and make good choices.

3 Year Olds – 3 by September 1st

Monday – Friday, 9 am – 12 pm
Children practice their ability to express themselves in words and ideas – opening a new social world. They use their senses to make sense of the world around them.  Sharing their thoughts and feelings they follow class routines and rules.  They learn to play well with others, using thinking skills to resolve conflicts.  They continue to improve their gross motor and fine motor skills.  Cognitive and language development are major areas of growth.

4 Year Olds – 4 by September 1st

Monday – Friday, 9 am – 12 pm
Children practice their wonderful mix of independence and sociability. They work on sharing and using their expressive language.  We challenge their increasing control of their muscles and use of our outdoor and indoor spaces to improve their coordination.  Executive functioning, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) skills are practiced as they get ready for their next educational steps.
